Day 1: Demolition and Preparation for Your Bathroom Remodel

Your entire first day will be spent preparing for the upcoming work. Your checklist today should include:
Covering any floor you’re not resurfacing with either Ramboard or Masonite.
Hanging plastic wherever necessary to contain any dust or debris.
Removing anything from the bathroom that you don’t need, including cabinets, countertops, shower tile, floor tile, backerboard, plumbing fixtures, lighting, mirrors, and portions of drywall.
Capping any water lines or electrical wires.
Demoing the flooring if applicable.
Hauling away all debris then cleaning up and prepping the area to start building your new bathroom.

Day 2: Framing and Making Other Repairs

The entire day will be spent working on framing for your new shower. If you’re not adding a new shower you’ll still need to add support for the tub and repair the framing in the area.

Day 3 and Day 4: Roughing in Your Bathroom and Making any Necessary Relocations

There are many parts of your bathroom remodel that will need relocated and roughed in including your new shower valve, sewer drain, bathtub, shower pan, electrical, and HVAC.

Day 5 – 7: Drywalling and Painting Your Bathroom

Now you can patch and repair your drywall to get ready to paint.

Day 8 – 10: Installing new Tile

Your bathroom remodel won’t be complete without new backerboard, a shower pan, and tiling for your shower and floor – all things you’ll want to complete today.

Day 11: Installing new Cabinets

Today is the day to build and install your vanity.

Day 12 – 16: Installing new Countertops

Take some time to measure for the new countertops while also finalizing your cabinet install. Don’t forget to set your countertops and sinks – drilling holes where the faucet goes. You may need to touch up some paint too.

Day 17 – 18: Installing new Trim

There’s more trimming than you’d imagine including around electrical receptacles (GFCI), switches, lighting, the toilet, sink, shower, and faucets. You’ll also have glass to install for the shower and mirrors, as well as other bath accessories.
